Colleen Moore Orbell
Inaugural Class of 2009
Colleen Moore is currently the Human Resources and Administration Manager at LMC Insurance. Her position includes recruiting, benefits administration, manager and employee counseling, and identifying legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and recommending policies and procedures to assure compliance.
After taking her father’s advice in college to enter the HR arena, Colleen has been an HR professional for almost 20 years. She grew up in the insurance world, working for Hawkeye-Security Insurance Company and Allied Insurance. Her achievements include manager and employee training, creating employee recognition programs, implementing “Hawkeye University,” and creating, “Good Morning Managers” a leadership program for managers. She has also held the position of “United Way Campaign Coordinator” for several years. Colleen volunteers for the “Meals on Wheels” program several times throughout the year.
Colleen has been a member of SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management) for many years. She earned her PHR, Professional in Human Resources, designation in 2002. She is also a member of an HR roundtable which meets monthly. She attended Dowling High School and received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Grand View College.
Colleen is married to Marc and has two children, Zach and Alli. Together with their dog, Murphy, they live in Norwalk.
