Courtney Stevens

Inaugural Class of 2009
Courtney Stevens joined LADCO Development in 2006. Her work focuses on the capital side of the real estate development continuum, and she helps to provide financing services for LADCO-affiliated developments. She also plays an active role in the development of Village of Ponderosa.
Courtney grew up in Clive, Iowa. She studied ballet in Budapest, Hungry, New York City, Seattle, and San Francisco, and graduated from Valley High School. In 1998, she received a BA in English Literature at the University of Chicago. After graduation, she moved to California and taught US History for one year. She joined Morgan Kaufmann Publishers in San Francisco, where she worked as an Editorial Coordinator.
In 2001, she moved to New York City where she attended graduate school at Sarah Lawrence College and received a Master of Fine Arts degree in Fiction Writing. During that time, she taught English for the State University of New York. In 2004, Courtney moved with her husband Abe to the North Coast of California, where she worked as an Account Executive and wrote obituaries for the local newspaper. In both California and New York, Courtney volunteered as a tutor at local schools.
Courtney moved back to Iowa in 2006 to work for LADCO Development and be near her family.
