David Farnsworth

David Farnsworth, CPA is a Senior Manager with the certified public accounting firm of McGowen, Hurst, Clark & Smith, P.C. Dave specializes in providing tax planning and preparation, business consulting, accounting and financial statement preparation. MHC&S serves a diversity of clients, ranging from individuals to start-up businesses and large companies. In addition to providing traditional tax, audit and business consulting services, MHC&S offers specialized services including estate planning, cost segregation studies, business succession planning and business valuations.
Dave earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from Simpson College in 1999 and earned his Certified Public Accounting designation in 2000. Dave is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Iowa Society of Certified Public Accountants, where he serves on the CPE committee.
Dave is active in many community and business organizations with an emphasis on charitable organizations including Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and The Friendship Baptist Center. Dave is highly involved with First Family Church in Ankeny by serving regularly in the children’s ministry, ushering, leading small groups, and participating in regular service and mission projects.
Dave enjoys numerous sports, traveling, hiking and spending time with his wife Sarah, daughter Clare and family.
