Dean Whitaker

Dean Whitaker is Vice President-Commercial Lender at First National Bank, emphasizing in commercial loans, deposits, and cash management services to companies in the manufacturing, distribution, service, medical, and professional industries as well as commercial real estate loans. With over 20 years of banking experience, his professional background includes loan review and commercial banking positions with two large financial institutions as well as being one of the founders of a community bank started in 2006.
Dean graduated with honors from Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, IA in 1990 and has been in banking in the Des Moines metropolitan area since that time. Dean currently serves on the boards of the West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce and the Blank Park Zoo Foundation. He has served as a West Des Moines Chamber Ambassador for a number of years and currently is a member of the Blank Park Zoo Foundation’s Executive Committee.
Dean enjoys playing golf, and spending time with his family. He and his wife, Lisa, and their three boys live in West Des Moines.
