Class of 2010

Melany Stonewall is a Senior Corporate Communications Specialist at GuideOne Insurance, a property and casualty insurance company in West Des Moines. Specializing in the public relations field for the past eight years, Melany is responsible for GuideOne’s internal and external communications, including executive, employee and agent communications; media relations; community relations; and government relations.

Melany is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in public relations. She also holds a Master’s in Communication Leadership degree from Drake University. Melany is actively involved in the Central Iowa Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) where she has served in numerous leadership roles on the organization’s Board for the past six years. She also is serving a role on the Marketing Committee for the YMCA Camp in Boone, Iowa.

Melany currently resides in West Des Moines with her husband, Andy, and yellow lab, Fletcher. In her spare time, Melany enjoys taking her dog on walks and to the Raccoon River dog park, watching Iowa football games in the fall, spending time with friends and family, and visiting her brother in San Diego as often as possible.
