Class of 2011

I graduated from Allen College of Nursing in 2001 as a member of Sigma Theta Tau National Honor Society. I was also the vice president of the Allen Student Nurses Association for 2 years. I then worked at UIHC for 3 years in the Surgical Intensive Care unit before moving to the Des Moines area where I accepted a job in the Emergency Department at Mercy as a staff nurse for 2 years then accepted a job in HR as a Nurse Recruiter for 1 year.

In October of 2007 is when I began my career as a formal leader and accepted a position in the Emergency Department at Mercy as a Nurse Manager. In June of 2008 I was offered a position at Finley Hospital in Dubuque, Iowa which is where I grew up as Director of the ICU and several outpatient clinics. While there I was named the co-lead fund raiser for the United Way Campaign and along with my partner we completed the most successful campaign Finley had to date for the United Way.

In June 2009 I returned to the Mercy Family and the West Des Moines area to take on the position of Nurse Manager of the Emergency Department for Mercy-West Lakes.

I must also mention that I have a beautiful daughter that is three and a half that really helps me keep everything in perspective and helps me keep a good home/work life balance.
