Jeffrey Stein

Class of 2011
Jeff Stein is a Site Planner in the Engineering Department at Hy-Vee, Inc. As a Site Planner, Jeff is responsible for development projects for new Hy-Vee stores and expansion of existing facilities. On most projects, Jeff must meet with city staff, attend city council meetings and complete construction drawings to meet city requirements.
Jeff is a graduate of the University of Iowa with a BS in Civil Engineering. After graduating from the University of Iowa in 1997, he joined the firm of HBK Engineering, specializing in fiber optic network design, in Chicago. In 2001 Jeff became a registered professional engineer. In 2002 he moved to West Des Moines where he joined Missman, Stanley and Associates. While at Missman, Jeff was involved with street improvement projects, subdivision design and the recently completed Iowa Veterans Cemetery. Before leaving Missman, Jeff had been promoted to Branch Manager of their Des Moines office.
Jeff has enjoyed a leadership role with Rebuilding Together for nine years. Rebuilding Together is a national non-profit organization focused on rehabilitating homes of low income owners. He is a House Captain responsible for coordinating volunteers and the planning and implementation of home rehabilitation projects.
Jeff and his wife Brenda enjoy spending time with their three children and getting involved with their activities. With any spare time he likes to golf, run and follow the Iowa Hawkeyes.
