Class of 2011

Vu is an Associate Civil Engineer at Olsson Associates (OA), a multi-disciplinary engineering consulting firm across the Midwest and recently serving the Des Moines region. He started with OA in late 2007 as an Assistant Engineer in Phoenix, Arizona before being promoted to his current position. Prior to his employment with OA, he worked for Sathre-Bergquist, Inc. in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He is an integral member of the Land Development Team for OA in the Des Moines Region and vital to their everyday operations.

Vu was born and raised in Bloomington, Minnesota, a suburb of Minneapolis. He received his Bachelors of Applied Science in Civil Engineering at the University of Minnesota in 2004 where he started attending classes while in high school. In October of 2008, he passed his Professional Engineering Exam and became a licensed engineer in the civil discipline. He is registered to practice in both the State of Iowa and Arizona.

Vu recently moved to Iowa in February of 2010 and has quickly acclimated to our state. Being a former Midwesterner he is no stranger to our community values. He has a five year old son that will be attending school this fall at Olmstead Elementary.

In his spare time, Vu enjoys spending time with his son by going swimming, fishing, the local park and basically anything the little guy wants to do!
