William Brackett

Class of 2011
William (Ted) Brackett is currently Vice President of Business Development for Neumann Brothers, Inc., a nearly 100 year-old Central Iowa construction company. His professional experience includes employment with several major local businesses, including Meredith Corporation, GMAC, Maytag Corporation, and Principal Financial Group. With a focus on sales, marketing, and business development, each role he has played has positioned him for increased responsibility and enabled him to leverage his experiences into new challenges and opportunities. Throughout his career he has had a passion for all aspects of real estate, initially concentrating on the real estate franchise and residential brokerage businesses, and later in the commercial real estate sector and corporate services solutions. Additionally his career path included 10 years of international experience as the international development leader for Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Service.
A 1976 graduate of Drake University, Ted has been a resident of Des Moines and West Des Moines for over 30 years. He has coached youth soccer at both the recreational and select level at the West Des Moines Soccer Club and Iowa United Soccer Club. He has volunteered his time at Habitat for Humanity and served on the Embassy Club Board of Directors and as vice president of marketing for the Club. He is currently a board member for the Dallas County Development Alliance.
A Chicago-area native, Brackett and his spouse Jane, have four children that have completed kindergarten through high school in the West Des Moines school district, including graduation from Valley High School.
